Amiens Cathedral - 858 - our first view as we arrived from the direction of Paris. It's not quite as dramatic as the first view of Chartres, but it still impressive to be able to see a cathedral in its entireity like that. It would be the last whole view we would get.

930 - Amiens Cathedral - World War I memorial. The cathedral was heavily damaged by the war which was fought all around for four years. The cathedral was rebuilt with gracious donations from the United States. The memorial commemorates British Commonwealth troops who gave their lives in France.
