Caen, Museum of Peace, D-Day, Normandy - I took these at the Caen, Museum of Peace in Normandy. The museum really wasn't devoted to D-Day or the Normandy campaign, per se, and so I was very disappointed. Save your money and go to the museum at Arromanches or the new one at Lion sur Mer - or was that Luc sur Mer?

Left: Rocket launcher and Sherman. There is a little catwalk that runs above both. And there are mirrors behind. So it's neat to get this slightly different view.
Right: Typhoon - the pilot was killed - shot down by flak; I'm not sure how the aircraft is in such great condition. It was a marvel to walk around. I only found out later by reading one of my new books that this plane in the museum had been crashed and the pilot killed.
Left: The British Flagship at Normandy. The name escapes me at the moment. Mauritania or something?
Right: An Intrepid Class CV.
Left: Run of the mill jeep.
Right: An M29 "Weasel" made by Studebaker (thanks to Christophe for pointing this out!)
Left: Model of a bunker.
Right: Model of an observation post.
I plan to have more photos from the actual battlefields in the next few days.
