Monument to the Children of Verdun - across from the tourist information center. Not sure who they are, but probably various iterations of the French "poilu" - grunt who bore the hells of Verdun.
Verdun - Notre Dame de Verdun - this was the first place hit during the battle
Verdun - Not sure who this is but probably Petain or Nivelle
Verdun - This is on the west bank of the Meuse. This warrior looks over Verdun.
Verdun - continue south west from the warrior and it leads to the cathedral.

Verdun - heading out to the battlefields. Things don't change at all. Imagine this photo in sepia and it would look like a shot of the countryside during World War I.
