Ferdinand/Elefant SPAT
(List of photos at bottom of page).
This is one of the world's last two surviving Elefant tanks. After the German Jagdtiger tank destroyer, this tank was the world's heaviest armored fighting vehicle ever produced. With a fixed turret and high velocity 88mm, it is strictly speaking a self-propelled anti-tank gun. This one survived Kursk and Italy. Note the added on hull machine gun. The armor plate is incredibly solid. There are several shots that hit the armored citadel, but never penetrated. Apparently this vehicle was disabled at the front left drive wheel, which is what knocked out the vehicle.
